Petal - Zingora Just My Style

Lives in Parktown with Rachel, Rick, Petal, Blackie, Wally, Silver, and Squeeky.

Quoted from a email from Rachel dated 5 Jan 2011

"Along with our three cats -- you may remember, the ginger tom Wally, is a close friend of our Petal -- we also got a four and a half year old cross Labby Border Collie from an animal rescue shelter about 2 months ago. Blackie had been neglected and mauled repeatedly by a Rottweiler but the lovely Petal's nature has made such a difference to him you can't believe.

Thanks to her, he is a now happy, playful and contended dog. As is Petal, I might add -- she loves having a friend; they play for HOURS together, and I mean HOURS. They play tug of war with a rope that I am amazed survives them, they chase ball, they dig holes together (sigh -- that was the Labby part in Blackie that she taught Petal). They sleep together -- and the sweetest thing: Petal grooms Blackie. You have no idea what that is like to see: this poor, neglected dog who never got any attention or affection from anyone until she went to the shelter, lying peacefully while Petal licks her face and cleans her ears and generally is just the loving Petal we love.

And it's not just us: people who supposedly don't like Bull Terriers, or are afraid of them, or think they're ugly: we give them 10 minutes with Petal and they're in love :). She is everything you'd expect: loving, loyal,
brave, protective, funny, stubborn, and utterly beautiful."
